Lutheran Family & Children’s Services offers solution-focused services for families through counseling, respite care, pregnancy counseling and case management with the goal of achieving a healthy and stable home environment.
An affiliate of Missouri Baptist Children’s Home.Services in the St. Louis area: therapeutic family foster care, pregnancy services (residential and in-home services), family preservation services, family resource development (foster/adoptive/relative/kinship services), family foster care, transitional living programs (group homes and scattered sites), and residential services for female victims of human trafficking.
Nurses for Newborns (NFN) provides a safety net for families who are expecting a baby or have an infant at home. Services are provided through home visiting by experienced, registered nurses who provide healthcare and resources, screen for common concerns, and teach positive parenting skills. The overall goal is to prevent infant mortality, and to promote safe, healthy pregnancy and infancy. NFN provides services to babies who are born with medical problems, born to teen moms or born to mothers with disabilities/mental health concerns, or who are born into families who do not have money for basic necessities. Families enrolled in NFN services are assisted whenever possible with donated materials needed for safe care. In addition to professional staff, NFN welcomes hundreds of volunteers each year who help manage the logistics of this work.
