Nurses for Newborns
Mental Health Services, Prevention Services, Services to Unwed and Teenage Parents
Nurses for Newborns (NFN) provides services for families who are expecting a baby or have an infant at home. The overall goal is to promote healthy pregnancy and safe and nurturing infancy. Support is provided through home visiting by experienced, registered nurses and community health workers who provide healthcare and resources, screen for common concerns, and teach positive parenting skills. Counseling is also available for caregivers participating in home visiting. Families enrolled in NFN services are assisted whenever possible with donated materials needed for safe care such as portable cribs and diapers.
